EXPECTED DATE OF APPOINTMENT August 22, 2008 DESCRIPTION Visiting Fellowship in Chemistry Education: This position will involve a combination of teaching General Chemistry lecture and labs (2/3rds time) coupled with major participation (1/3rd time) in a major course redesign project, "Closing the Gap in CHEM 1411", aimed at increasing access and success in traditional barrier courses. SPECIAL SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS The successful applicant will possess strong communication and organizational skills and a desire to develop innovative learning experiences. Candidates should be dedicated to excellence in teaching and have a passion to participate in the development of an innovative General Chemistry curriculum. Preference will be given to candidates with training in science pedagogy or significant chemistry course development experience. QUALIFICATIONS Ph.D. in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Education or a closely related field.
