ASSISTANT PROFESSOR, General Chemistry
Mars Hill College, a private liberal arts college, is seeking applicants for the position of Assistant Professor of General Chemistry. The Chemistry program will soon occupy a new science facility and seeks a new faculty member with enthusiasm for and commitment to undergraduate education.

This position is advertised as a defined-term appointment of one year; however, qualified Ph.D.-level applicants will be considered for a tenure-track appointment. The appointment begins with the Fall 2008 semester. Review of applications will begin immediately and continue until a suitable applicant has been hired.

The candidate should have a Ph.D. -or- M.S. in chemistry and relevant teaching experience. Duties include teaching the freshman-level two-semester General Chemistry sequence and upper-level courses in Descriptive Chemistry, Quantitative Analysis, and related subjects. Additional opportunities exist for the instructor to teach general education classes that emphasize the liberal arts perspective of Mars Hill College.
