| Research in our laboratory (http://www.wellscenter.iupui.edu/conway.html) is focused on multiple aspects of cardiovascular development; including the molecular regulation of lineage determination, transcription factors, congenital heart defects, regulation of endocardial cushion cell terminal differentiation and valve formation. This particular project will test the hypothesis that secreted Periostin and bigH3 adhesion factors regulate cardiac valve ECM assembly in a TGFb and/or BMP-dependent fashion. Transgenic, gene targeting, gene profiling, cellular imaging, ultrastructural imaging, and proteomics core facilities are available on site. Candidates with experience in the areas of developmental biology, cell biology, molecular and/or vertebrate genetics are encouraged to apply. Additionally, it would be helpful if applicants have specific experience in one or more of the following techniques that will be required for this project: tissue culture, establishment of permanent cell lines and/or ES cell differentiation; luciferase/EMSA/ChIP analysis; transgenic vector construction; and, in vitro/in vivo promoter analysis. Interested individuals with a record of research productivity should submit their curriculum vitae, and the names of at least three references to: |
