Job Description & Requirement
A NSF-funded Postdoctoral Position is available at Case Western Reserve University to study the influence of soil acidity on soil microbial communities and phosphorous cycling in deciduous forests. We are looking for a highly motivated PhD with experience in DNA-based techniques such as TRFLP and sequence analysis, and with experience in microscopy and morphological methods for characterizing mycorrhizal fungi on tree roots. Experience with extracellular enzyme and PFLA analysis would also be helpful. There will also be opportunities to develop complementary research in microbial ecology and biogeochemistry, and the successful candidate will be responsible for mentoring undergraduate students working on the project.
