Job Description & Requirement
The Environmental Health and Safety Department at the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology seeks a Campus Chemical Materials Coordinator whose duties may include 1) maintaining Material Data Safety Sheets (MSDS) on hazardous materials used in the teaching and research labs on campus, 2) maintaining accurate chemical inventories, 3) working with the storage, handling and disposal of waste chemicals on campus, and 4) ordering, receiving and distributing items for use across campus. Experience in the following areas are preferred: safe handling of chemicals and their waste; understanding of MSDS sheets; educational laboratory environment; research laboratory environment; accurate inventory recordkeeping; financial recordkeeping; leadership skills; safety and security; chemical reactions and interaction; working with hazardous materials; billing.

A BS is required at the time of appointment. Preference will be given to applicants with a Chemistry degree, or related degree with chemical experience.
